Bid must be joke
I could not believe the article (nor could my friends) "Going for Golden Games" - are you serious?
Nothing against Tingalpa, I love the place, but first a few weeks past the deadline - how professional is that? Second, what does "Athens have that Tingalpa doesn't?" - you've got to be kidding. Bulimba Creek. The wading pool. What are these to be used for? I hate to think.
Poodles! Come on this has to be an April Fool's joke (also working dogs don't get cuddles when on the job). I'm finding it very hard to imagine an official standing up in Moscow and announcing: The winner is Tingalpa.

Try these events
I'm so excited about the Tingalpa Olympic Games. May I suggest that the equestrian event be held at the pony club on Bognor St, Tingalpa.
The track and field can be held at the Worker's Club with the cricket pitch dug out for the long jump (and) the mad mile for the marathon. Can I also include two new sporting events, ie. model aircraft aerobatics at the Tingalpa Model Aero Club and car racing at the Worker's Club.
Child-minding activities coule also be included at Robinson Park with a fee of $5 per adult to pay for (the) jumping castle and candyfloss.
Please be assured that the Wynnum Herald is appreciated by many locals who also have a sense of humour. Well done.
Hugh B Serious, Tingalpa
