Top attitude
I am not only shocked, but utterly dismayed at Tingalpa's loss of the 2008 Olympic Games to Beijing.
After the build-up by Mr Carroll and his team, the media coverage, the infrastructure upgrades (eg the Wynnum Rd roadworks) and the advertising around the area, how could we expect anything less that the Games here in 2008?
Despite the loss, I am proud of the attitude of TINCOG. They've done Australia as a nation proud by taking it upon themselves to bring the Olympics back to Oz. It makes me both proud as an Australian and a Tingalpian.
David Gwynne, Tingalpa
Nice change
I have been following with interest Tingalpa's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Like so many others I was "shocked and dismayed" that its seemingly unchallengable bid was overlooked and received such poor world coverage. People like Mr Carroll and his team should be ancouraged. It makes a nice change to read a newspaper and have a good laugh.
